Why are some wall printers so much cheaper?

Direct-import machines at $5,000 to $16,500 buy you the hardware and very little after it: support from overseas, parts on a boat, and no training. For a technically confident buyer near a big market, that trade can be rational. Most buyers running a business on the machine find the support is the product.
